I’ve chosen: Stephen King’s Nightmares & Dreamscapes (a collection of short stories), story title: The Moving Finger.

Yesterday I began reading The Moving Finger. It is about a man named Howard, who lives in a New York apartment with his wife. One day while his wife is out, Howard hears a scratching in the bathroom. He goes in, armed with a broom, and ready to deal with the vermin he believes to be a rat or mouse, only to receive the scare of his life.

This story is about 33 pages within the book, and I feel it will be a great first discussion. Please note that this story is probably not suitable for children under the age of about 14. It has a morbidity I feel would be overwhelming for young children.

So, if you feel like reading the story, sorry for the short notice, but you’ve got until Friday if you would like to join the discussion. If you don’t feel like reading it and still want to discuss, please feel free too. However, I will go into details from the story, including the conclusion, so if you want to find out how it ends on your own, don’t read the discussion.

Oh, and one more thing, Nightmares & Dreamscapes is included in my Goodreads widget to the left.
